Strangest catch

Wow, where do you folks fish?! The oddes thing we ever hauled up (but not from a boat) was a fish called a Stargazer. Really ugly, sort of flat with a huge mouth and some sort of "lure" on its nose to attract little fish to eat. My friend kicked it over the side of the pier and got a spine in his foot. Later he felt like crap and we found out that the slime on these things is mildly poisonous! He was ok fortunately.

And that's why we don't just "kick" things we have no vital information about beforehand.:ROFLMAO:

Man, you guys are really raking it in! Bras, bikinis, speedos??? Chests full of porn?? Umm, what kinda parties do you guys go to? And can I get an invitation? :D
I'm afraid the only thing I've gotten was a beat up scuba fin.

I would love to invite you, but I don't have an invite myself. Perhaps we can try crashing one of these parties. I don't know - I'm just apparently the cleaning crew.

It's obviously that they live around certain types of folks. Probably teenagers or spring breakers.

The strangest thing I caught was an octopus while fishing from a pier in Maui, Hawaii. It weighted about six pounds and it was quite scary getting it untangled and the hook out. You do not have to worry about the arms so much, it's the "beak" that causes the damage. In the end it wound up as "Tako Poki", which is a Hawaiian delicacy of raw or lightly boiled octopus or squid.

Well, you'd have been out of luck with me. See, that chest full of porn was "confiscated" from me by the adults. I know damn well they kept it but oh well lol.

That's what happens when you tell people things Cross. I would have been silent until I snuck some prizes out of that chest, and/or I would have made a bid for the contents some time within the next couple of days.

Don't have to keep the porn either. You can always sell it on ebay if it's old and valuable enough.

Fishing in a small harbour, in a docking bay, in France once I suddenly felt my line go tight with a massive bite. I immediately grabbed my rod and started fighting this monster "fish" like crazy.
The fight went on and on, trying not to pull him too hard in case the line snapped, I had played him for around five minutes when I looked up and saw that this French guy on the opposite side of the bay was equally involved in fighting a monster catch, yep, you guessed it, we were trying to land each other! Sacre bleu!

I caught a lot of plastic bags, sandals, tree branches, cans, but I think the strangest was green Rapala lure with a piece of line still attached to it.

The strangest thing that I have ever caught was a nasty tempered snapping turtle. I was fishing for catfish in an old farm pond, and thought I really had something awesome when I got the turtle on my line, he was struggling pretty hard, and was heavy to pull up out of the water. When I finally got him up where I could tell it was a turtle, he was really in a bad mood, and wanted to snap me. I could not get the hook back out of his mouth because of the snapping, so I ended up just cutting the line, and letting the turtle go back to the bottom of the pond.

Heh. That sounds like something out of a cartoon. I would have loved to see your reaction when you discovered what was actually happening. On the other hand, I think I would have probably needed rescuing from facepalming myself into the water.

My Dad used to take me and my brother fishing in a 12 foot aluminum boat. We would tie the boat to some kelp in a big kelp bed and fish for the big fish looking for the little fish hiding in the kelp. One day I caught a 6 foot Moray eel. I was in the bow of the boat, but as soon as what looked like a huge snake with hundreds of needle-sharp teeth came slithering into the boat, all 3 of us found ourselves at the back of the boat. We stayed there, too, until we got back to shore. Good thing I wasn't at the back of the boat with the motor. I had to cut my line and put another hook on it, because I wasn't going to put my fingers near those teeth. It tasted delicious, though.

The strangest thing that I have ever pulled up out of the water while fishing from a boat was a small tire. It was absolutely covered in mud when I got it up.

What is the strangest thing you've ever caught? For me, it was an old license plate. I didn't think that would even be possible! It put up a good fight too!

A license plate putting up a fight with you LOL. That must have been a fishy moment to remember. So what was written on the license plate?

My strangest also put up a fight and for a good few minutes too. At the time I could have sworn it was a huge fish because it was pulling away from me and so handled it with great expectations. Low and behold it was only an old tangled up net that was caught on some ragged rocks, swaying in the current underneath. That caused quite a laugh when it surfaced. Sure felt like the real thing.
